Guest guest
My DD has gone 14 days. But, usually we're giving her stuff to soften the stools (MOM or mineral oil) during that time, so when it finally does come out, it's usually somewhat soft, so she doesn't get tears or anything (thank goodness!). She used to go 14 days without pooping even when she was on Miralax, actually. She's a tough case. These days, though, it's usually more like 6 or 7 days. Progress... Bonnie Eight days is the longest I've ever let my daughter go without " pooping " - and at the end of that, she'd get a suppository or enema. > > I know this is an odd question, but what is the longest your little one has gone without > pooping? Guest guest
You may want to have a KUB xray. She is probably impacted and very uncomfortable. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the responses... Well I was on Miralax, not anymore. I was giving her Fletchers Senna and I Finally got her to take MOM last night. It was hard to get it in her but I persisted. Well today she let a little tiny bit out, I mean a nickle size and that's it, it didnt even seem hard. I'm so frustrated, I know that the trauma of the suppository lingers in her head. It makes me so upset because I know she is not comfortable and that it has to be putting pressure on her cooly. Well Thank you so much for the vent. -- In miralax , Jeanie Ward wrote: > > Some kids don't respond to certain laxatives, try something different. It could also be that the trama from the use of suppositories may have scared them so much they are trying to hold the " thing " that caused the suppository episode. Call your Physician and tell him what you are giving and see what you could give on top of what you've already gave. They usually start you out with suppositories for a 3 day cleanout before you try something else when they've went that long without going. Go into my groups and click on links and Merry posted a lot of choices and their make-up for laxative choices.............. > What are you currently using? > > > > csab123 wrote: > I know this is an odd question, but what is the longest your little one has gone without > pooping? Guest guest
Try Vitamin C! For our 45lb son about 3000 grams works. May take a second day also at this amount. Or... try aloe vera juice(we use wallmart brand), at least 2 oz x 2 times the first day! We avoid the enama's also. It is to tramatic for our son. It well be ok, I know it can be scary/upsetting, I have had these feelings also! She well move!! Guest guest
Carlin's record is 11 days, but that ended with toxic seizures and a hospital stay. not recommended. he was down to an average of 3-4 days with only a minimum of intervention, and in the potty to boot! then we moved a couple weeks ago and have had a setback. starting at 3 days, he gets more reminders. like how good it feels when your body is clean inside and out. and I start to push the liquids. more than 4 days gets a teaspoon of lactulose and a fiber tablet in the morning. and an 'i love u' belly massage after school and sit time about an hour after that. poops in the toilet get high fives and sighs of relief. poops in pullups get a rather uncomfortable change on the bathroom floor and sit time, to practice, and let your body know that the toilet is where the poop goes. gotta get to school, na Suzanne France writes: > Eight days is the longest I've ever let my daughter go > without " pooping " - and at the end of that, she'd get a suppository or > enema. > > >> >> I know this is an odd question, but what is the longest your little > one has gone without >> pooping?
