Guest guest
Hiya everyone. Just had a thought today - everyone reads the mail from yahoo groups, but why don't we chat more ? I know a lot of people work, have children to see to and don't have the time to chat for long on here but sometimes just the odd five minutes helps. On AOL instant messaging, I spoke to a lady today in New York (finding her off the mds website) who had never spoken before to anyone about mds - she always felt alone but not now after talking to someone. She had questions that only a parent of an mds child could answer. As some of you know (probably to your cost !), I speak to anyone that I can and have made some really good friends by using the IMs. I use AOL for text chat and MSN for text, voice or webcam (using netmeeting) - both IMs are free so there is no charge involved in any of this apart from internet charges. As has said before, it would help the children to get to know one another as well and I know that some of our kids already chat away happily. already chats away to other mds children by the webcam (or performs her song and dance routine !) as some of you already know LOL Bill's put together a word document with over 50 AOL IM names of parents of mds children - by talking to parents i've managed to put names, faces and locations against the IM names. If anybody wants the list (minus the pics), I am happy to mail a copy if they let me know. We have a convention to look forward to in 2003 - this way we can can get to know each other before we all meet up ! Hope you're all having a lovely day.
