Guest guest
Hi Everyone, After running around on Saturday, I did end up getting a PIlates practice in - I did McGee's Pilates for Beginners (I think that is the title). It has 2 10 min segments and 2 20 minute segments so you can mix and match. I often like the beginner workouts b/c the pace is slower and there is less temptation to rely on momentum to get the reps in and more of a focus on form. Overall this is a pretty balanced routine that works the core in both flexion and extension. I like to be sure to do both b/c too much flexion is not good for me. There is also a good deal of glute work in there as well. So, it was a relaxing way to spend an hour after running around during the day! Today I kept debating what to do - finally, I selected Ellen's Skinny Sculpt. My back was tight on Friday and that freaked me out a bit so that is why I wanted to go with Pilates style routines this weekend. Happy to report that I feel great now! After Ellen's workout I did Exhale Core Fusion Pilates Plus - upper body, lower body and stretch. I don't know if it is the FIRM Express workouts our what - but I am definately getting stronger! The plank/push-up series in Exhale Core Fusion used to feel really challenging to me - today, not so much! I also felt stronger doing the lower body work and I felt stronger doing Ellen's workout as well. One thing I noticed today about Ellen's Studio Workouts is that the stronger you are - the more you are able to put into them and the tougher they are! So, Woo Hoo! I'm happy. Tomorrow I have Firm Express Cycle 2 Cardio scheduled. I plan to wake up with a mile and perhaps finsih up w/ a mile and then add on a Classical stretch episode. On a random commment, I got my Collage e-mail newsletter and looked at a couple of clips. The new Austin cardio looks good. Actually, for the most part, ';s workouts are good - it is just her that I have trouble with! I also looked at the new clip of Jari Love's workout. I don't mean to be unkind but she doesn't look good - she is all skin and bones! Not a look I want! I like the lean look - but I also like to look strong and not skelatal! Hope everyone has a good day, I'm helping DD to clean her room (which is a mess). UGH! We have too many stuffed animals!Take care - Donna
