so sorry to hear of Anne's new diagnosis of diabetes on top of everything

else.

I wonder if the attending issues were really the diabetes, which comes with

many side

effects. Our kids are so strong, Im sure you and Anne will get this under

control

soon. My 17 yr old with ocd had her gallbladder out two days ago so I can

truely

say I know how hard hospital stays are on our kids and us. Keep us posted on

how Anne and you are doing. Many HUGS Lori

Golly, --don't ask what can happen next because you just might find out!

I am so sorry to hear the Anne has diabetes. What a shock that must have

been. I am glad that she is doing okay with it right now. I have a dear friend

with five children who's second child is autistic and diabetic and he is

doing wonderfully. When he was admitted to the hospital three years ago with a

blood sugar level over 2,000 (not a typo) they thought they were going to lose

him but after that first horrible episode, they have managed to keep him from

having any problems other than occasional highs or lows. I am confident that

you'll do the same. Please know that you are in my thoughts. Kelley in NV

Oh !

I just finally read your post! I'm so sorry that this has now happened

too. Diabetes is something that is always in the back of my mind, since my MIL

has it (since she was 12) and so many kids on psych. medications are now

getting it, for whatever reason. And, of course, Annie worries about it

incessantly...

Poor Anne! A hospital. Wow. Talk about exposure therapy! I hope she is

getting better and not having an OCD worsening. Please let us know how both of

you are doing, and give her a hug from me!

Best wishes,

in NV

Sorry to hear about Anne's recent developments. I guess I missed

your post about the ADHD as well. What a lot for you all to adjust

to during a short period of time. My thoughts are with you!!

Also, when I see those more " physical " ailments along with OCD, it

makes me think about how much our whole bodies and minds really are

connected. Hopefully, getting the diabetes under control will have

a positive effect on her OCD and ADHD.

Recently a doc tested my daughter and determined she wasn't

producing progestrone. We have an appointment soon for her to see a

gyno about that. But when I did research on the internet it said

the hormone imbalance could have a direct effect on her ability to

handle stress, which comes back around to affecting her OCD.

It is hard to keep track of everything going on with them and figure

out what is connected to what. But I hope that your recent trials

and diagnosis turn into a positive as you get Anne's whole body

functioning better. Good luck!!!

Oh I was so sorry to read your post. You must really be having a

sense of enough is enough with extra challenges for your family to face. I

hope Anne is home now and feeling better. Please let us know how you and

she are doing when you get the time.

p.s. Is the diabetes management causing a problem with OCD? I was thinking

of insulin injections, obsessive worries about sharp things, sugar levels

and so on.
