Guest guest
Good morning listmates, I wanted to share a quick update on my son Ethan, 3.3 yo, 750 mg/day in 3 doses: Its day 23.... no rashes, bumps etc at all. Background - Ethan has chronic chicken pox (varicella zoster shot) and we're hoping Valtrex helps. At first, Ethan was irritable, sensitive and his visual stimms came back--he loves to watch the wheels on his toy trucks. He became a bit umcompliant with us (parents)and potty training took a dive. HIs therapists also said he had a few episodes of inappropriate laughter in session. I started diflucan on day 14. Around day 14-16 Ethan's language really picked up. His language has been ona a steady climb but he really started saying long sentences... " I want Daddy's hand and go up stairs to play in my playroom!!! " His social skills are getting better too - he is waving and saying hello to all the neighbors and good bye, umprompted on our walks. Before, I felt I was prompting him to do so, most of the time. He is also making friends at the kids corner at the mall and bookstore. He was social before, but its slightly better...Day 19-21 visual stimms are decreasing drastically. If I see him stare at his trucks he redirects himself and pushes the truck around appropriately. No inappropriate laughter and he is no longer irratable and sensitive. He is compliant with us too - although, he is acting like a typical 3 yo too, which I love! Potty training is better as well. I'm hoping our regression is over and he continues to progress. Will keep you all posted. We are also starting HBOT this week!! I forgot something! Ethan is expanding his list of foods! He is picky but has tried new foods this last 3-4 weeks. FINALLY!!!! Thanks for the great advice on this list, Stan and others. Hope to see you all at DAN! this weekend. emily
Guest guest
, I'm in the airport, so I'll be short. Great update . Another Ethan on his way back. That's really great news. Please go into the polls section and log that you are one of the families who did not have the rash, but did have a regression and is certainly improving. I encourage everyone that tries a therapy to go into the polls section of this list and take one minute to respond to them. The more people who tell their story in the group and on the polls, the more data we'll have to convince doctors that this is a viable therapy. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mb12 valtrex/polls Question : Did your son test for any viral markers? If so, what? If not, that's OK as well. I would like to hear from families who did not have a posative titers test but improved with Valtrex. - Stan > > Good morning listmates, > I wanted to share a quick update on my son Ethan, 3.3 yo, 750 mg/day in > 3 doses: > Its day 23.... no rashes, bumps etc at all. Guest guest
Hi Stan Yes, we did the Immunioscience premeire viral panel and his Varicella came back 442! <100 ref range. That is the only one that came back on that test. Our son is doing so great - his stimms are drastically dropping and his speech is expoding. I really feel like the diflucan helped us and yeast really was masking his progress the first two weeks. We'll keep it up and test frequently to be sure liver enzymes are ok. I'm excited about this intervention. I'll go to the polls now.... Thanks and see you at DAN! emily ethans mom, 3.3 yo alexandria, va > > > > Good morning listmates, > > I wanted to share a quick update on my son Ethan, 3.3 yo, 750 mg/day in > > 3 doses: > > Its day 23.... no rashes, bumps etc at all.
