Tahira, Sorry to hear about your relative. I have a huge file on cancer. As I sift through medical studies, I usually print out anything of interest on cancer. The following themes come up over and over again:1. Strong correlation between Vitamin D3 blood deficiency and cancer. Vitamin D promotes cell differentiation and lack of it promotes the opposite. (Cancer in general terms, but not always, is a LACK of cell differentiation.2. Strong correlation between latitude and cancer so that the further you go from the equator, the higher the cancer rates. This could be masking something else of course as the countries further north are industrialized countries, genetic differences, diet but the fact that D3 levels also coincide with cancer rates makes a good case for D3.3. Some good studies showing generalized pain and lower D3

levels.4. Strong correlation between selenium deficiency and cancer.5. STRESS! High levels of stress and cancer rates. Stress comes from within not just say psychological. 5a. Oxidative stress stress caused by thyroid dysregulation for me would be a major factor. Newest study showing 70% of teenage girls of girls tested in 5 centers in the UK is clearly an indication that more research should be done on iodine levels here. Iodine is important for conversion of T4 to T3, the active thyroid hormone which one finds all over the body. 5b. Oxidative stress arises from the gut as it seeks to find its equilibrium. Stress will decrease SigA. So probiotics needed here. 5c. Oxidative stress arising from the omnipresent heavy metal 'leadl which the medical profession is ignoring. 'LEAD' is not bio-degradable and is still very much present in the British ecosystem. (Have recent studies on London back gardens showing high

'lead' levels to prove this. ('Lead' is excreted with additional Vitamin C and B1.5d. Lastly although I don't have a strong biochemical case, I have heard that choosng more alkaline producing foods, ie vegetables will decrease acidity. The German alternative medical professional always go on about cancer loving an acidic body. Again I haven't got a strong argument for this yet but I hear this ringing in my ears al the time so there be something to it.6. Look up Dr. Jane Plant, geologist and former head or asistant head of the British Geological Survey. I heard her speak on BBC4 Woman's Hour. She had written her Last Will and Testament after resigning herself to the various breast tumours that weren't going away. She and her husband also a geologist while on a trip to China realized that breast cancer rates were lower in Chinese women and that there was a relationship between cancer and selenium. She eliminated cow's milk, her

breast tumours stopped and she's here to tell the tale many years later. After learning about that and also reading the book, 'The devil in the milk' (mostly to do with the Holstein milk widely available here in the UK) I have hardly touched cow's milk of the gene A1 type. The A2 milk is apparently better and contained in goat's, human, European cows etc. I go with goat produce whenever milk is concerned.7. Omega 3/6 fatty acids. For me an ABSOLUTELY important factor. A higher Omega6/3 ratio seems to be implicated in cancer development.Omega 6 in the diet has increased a LOT over the last decades. You want to decrease this by eliminating processed foods which use the Omega 6 oils, ie corn and using sunflower oil judiciously. I would concentrate on coconut and olive oil for cooking. Take supps of Omega 3 fish based especially EPA. Important is taking anti-oxidants so that they don't go rancid. If it were me, I'd be taking higher levels of

D3 and find a nice doctor or lab which will monitor D3 levels (Good luck with that one as most GPs seem reluctant on this point. levels should be at least 70.) )Take 200 mCg selenium daily making sure there is adequte sulphate to balance (ie Epsom salt baths). Eating more vegetables throughout the day (Ph strips tested on urine wlll give feedback. Do yoga, visual imagery to calm the system down. Absolutely eliminate Holstein milk. Take as many strains of good bacteria as you can find, bearing in mind that bifidus comprises 95% of a healthy gut so concentrate on that one. I would also take EPA (Omega 3) at least 600 mg. daily with a wide variety of anti-oxidants.So that's for starters.x From: tahira sufi
