Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just yesterday I gave a mom information about Jack Newmans' APNO cream and was feeling a little jittery about the liability. For those of you who give information about products like Gentian Violet for thrush and APNO cream, do you also carry the products? I'm wondering if it would be practical or even ethical to carry the ingredients for APNO cream with me - as well as a handout with references - on consults. I appreciate your time and thoughts on the matter. Warmly, McCoy, IBCLC Best Beginnings Breastfeeding Support Svcs. Placerville, CA
Guest guest
i haven't yet, but do intend to carry gentian violet, grpaefruit seed extract, and tincture of myrhh (the antifungal that terriana lowdog uses now - i have 3 moms who have had success with it!). i am inclined to *not* carry the apno ingredients with me, because some moms opt to get the prescription version, while others are open to the homemade version, and carrying the ingredients feels a little like a hard sell (as you can get them at any pharmacy, unlike the products mentioned above, which moms may find harder to find, so it is more of a service to have them available). but that is just my first reaction - i am eager to hear others' thoughts. i mean, you can get domperidone mail order *without* a prescription, but i would never carry that to dispense to mom directly - the apno feels somewhere in between g.v. and dom. . .. .
