Hi Shane,

....to be extended " is OK

g-GT (g should be the lower case greek letter) stands for Gamma-GT; Referenz

= reference value (i.e. normal value)

chronic and active focal ulcer

sutures (or suture material if you wish)

Betreff: TERMS: Cholezystitus

Greetings from Sydney

From a medical report on a patient with cholecystitus I have the following

queries:

1. " ..... war der Ductus choledochus sonographisch nicht erweitert

darstellbar "

Does this mean that the sonography did not show the common bile duct to be

extended?

2. " g-GT 378 U/l, Referenz < 55 U/l, ... "

a) I found 'g-Glutamyltransferase' on the Internet but does the 'g' stand

for 'gamma' ?

B) I take 'Referenz' to be 'reference' but what it is actually? It comes up

several times in the lab tests.

3. " histologisch zeigte sich im Präparat eine herdförmig ulcerierende,

chronische und aktive, .... "

I have 'the histological preparation showed a focally ulcerating, chonic

and active.... " but 'focally ulcerating' sounds clumbsy to me. Is there a

better way of saying this?

4. und bitten um Entfernung des Fadenmaterials am 8. bis 10. postoperativen

Tag

Is 'Fadenmaterial' the 'ligature material' ?

your comments appreciated

regards,

Shane London
