I know an LC who makes dome-shaped cupcakes, frosts them with various skin

tone colors, and puts some appropriately shaped/colored candy in the middle

for a nipple. Very cute.

Unfortunately, I'm not doing anything this year but it's fun to hear about

others!

Dear Penny,

Last year, we hosted a booth at a Parent's Exhibition (a annual event here in Montreal). Three games were put together and we asked parents to participate when they stopped. We had prizes to raffle among the people who entered. Here are the 3 games :

1. Tell me what you can or cannot eat while you are breastfeeding ? We had a table full of many items that comprise the myths of food consumption for BF moms. The parents or parents-to-be had to decide what, if any, they thought a BF mom could eat or not eat and put these items into a basket. In the end, we discussed what they had excluded or included.

2. We had a BF Myth table. We had set up a large spinning wheel (similar to the Price is Right) and the wheel had 3 or 4 colours. When the wheel would stop spinning, we would pick a question according to the colour where it had landed. The coloured cards we had stated all the BF myths or thruths that we found important. Parents got to answer the question and then we would give them a bit of info.

3. The other game was for activities the spouse or other significant persons can do in a newborn's life. Among the items : rock baby, walk with baby, give a bath, give a massage, change diaper, sing a song, fix a meal, breastfeed the baby (obviously the one we wanted to debusk), etc. We would ask the participant to classify these activities in three piles : "I know I can do this for my baby", " I know I would love doing this for my baby" and "This is something that I cannot do". Afterwards, we would discuss the outcome of the game, especially if they were not sure about feeding the baby.

I hope my memory served me well...as I'm not the one who invented these games.

World Breastfeeding Week

Dear Ladies,

Do any of you have great ideas for World Breastfeeding Week? I will have a booth in a street fair, but don't want to market products so much as I would like to have educational material and so forth. I would love to hear your creative ideas on hosting a booth - table decorations, creating a display, hand-outs, activities, questionnaires and so forth.

Do any of you do anything special for your past clients?
