Hey .. our Abs classes are packed at Golds.. mainly with the people who do cardio machines and don't want to do full hour of class. They are an older crowd and love it.. I think you should try it for a month esp. in spring when everyone wants that flat tummy for swimsuit season!judyTo: exercisevideos Sent: Tue, January 25, 2011 10:12:10 PMSubject: Workout 5 of 12: Chest and Triceps with Noel

Well my personal torturer has upped the ante now that we're in Round 2 of the workouts. We did 5 chest machines and 3 tricep machines. I have no idea how much iron I was moving except that on the very last tricep machine it was 70 lbs and my arms were all aquiver.

What got me through this arduous session is that Noel kept making me laugh, as usual. Today's story is that there was a woman trying to park a silver truck over by the gun shop across the street. She pulled in, then out, then in then out, and Noel went over to see what was up. She grumbled something and Noel goes, "What? I didn't hear you".

She again muttered something under her breath and again Noel goes, "What? I can't hear you".

This time she goes, "You're not all that!"?

Whatever that means! Noel said something back that put her in her spot which I won't repeat that here but anyway every time the weights seemed unbearably heavy he'd go, "You're not all that!".

In the MMA room a hot guy holding punching mitts winked at me while Third Eye Jiujitsu was doing burpees and covered in sweat. I would love to do a workout in that MMA room sometime. It's nothing like any class I've seen or taken before. It's just so... raw!

Sadly, the yoga classes have only drawn three or four people at a time :/ I told Noel I could pack that room with Turbo Kick only I couldn't teach TK there because people's tennis shoes would tear up the wrestling mat, and shoes are a must in TK. He replied, "Well teach something else then!".

I told him I used to teach an Abs class at 24 Hour Fitness but I just don't see people paying $10 for a fifteen minute ab class. Maybe for a 30 minute class, which I could certainly do and have done before, but still.. how to get people in off the street to come in and pay for just a quick abs class and that's it? My hope would be to offer it for free to all FF gym members and have that be a perk into selling more memberships (and in exchange, more training for me). Maybe if there was a big sign outside that advertised the class saying it was $15 for the class but they could stay afterward and use the other equipment and cardio machines for the remainder of their stay?

Something to consider for sure, just don't know what the logistics of it would be. If nothing else, *I* would get a good workout in!

Tomorrow I hope to get a quick eliptical workout at the Sweat Shop during lunch and some ab work on the captain's chair. Am going to a shi shi oxygen bar after work where you breathe pure oxygen through tubes while she massages your scalp and you drink wine. Apparently it's all the rage so you know I gotta try it..

Don't tell my barefeet that. ;)

The APD in my area taught a free TKB master class last weekend and I couldn't

figure out if I should just wear my vibrams or scramble to find another shoe

with a similar minimum sole/heel, and I dithered so much I ended up not going.

I did that too when I was a gym member. Work out in the gym and then come in for a 15 minute abs class. Classes were included free with a gym membership though, I don't think I would have paid for it if they weren't.

Yeah the abs classes I subbed at 24H, a large corporate gym chain, were well attended but they were free with one's gym membership. Fitness is a small neighborhood gym so the MMA classes there aren't free with membership and resemble personal training more than a class.  Noel's gym is kind of bodybuilder / wrestler / MMA fighter specific place... Tricky getting " normal " classes attended there.

Of course that's why I love it there!  It's where the big muscle men go!  Never short on eye candy at Noel's :)

could sell it as core/flexibility class and thru some of the Piyo/turbo stretches in.. I think all those muscle men would need that :) plus you could adjust hahahahaha... I contemplate yoga training more and more as it is something you can do for life.jTo: exercisevideos Sent:

there just isn't a market there for it, a market would need to be created somehow...you and I know they need it, but THEY don't think they do
