Guest guest
Yes as long as my son was doing the therapy he had desired results. We were targeting ADD type symptoms and anxiety. He did a baseline Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA), which is a computerized test of attention that assists in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring of attention disorders, like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The TOVA is an objective, neurophysiological measure of attention, not a subjective rating of behavior. It is a 21.6 minute long, very simple "computer game" that measures responses to either visual or auditory stimuli. These measurements are then compared to the measurements of a group of people without attention disorders who took the TOVA. My son did the TOVA assessment before, during and after and his scores improved. When he stopped, attention skills waxed and waned but his level of anxiety before doing NFB returned so now he's doing cognitive behavior therapy and that's working better than NFB. R.
