Guest guest
: Welcome to the group, and boy do we have something to talk to each other about! My MDS son, KC, will be 20 this month and, like your daughter Annie has had significant battles with depression. He's had hospitalization events as well, and has tried to hurt himself on occasion. He seems to be mostly over it now, but it was a tough few years earlier this decade. His depression didn't/doesn't seem to be related to social anxiety (if I understand what you mean by that), but rather, as you said, wanting " to be just like everyone else more than anything in the world " , combined with enough self-awareness to know that it never will be possible in just the way he wants it to be. He's pretty computer-literate, and loves to write, so he joins these group conversations sometimes. He really like to share his poetry and song lyrics, most of which have a deep sadness about them. Is there a chance that he and Annie could correspond via this list? He is normally tested in the low-90 range, and is one class and a math competency test from completing his high school diploma. Normally he gets on here over the weekend, but with Christmas coming up we will be visiting his mom, brother and sister, and therefore out of town until next week. Anyway, I'm really interested to hear more from you, Jim and Annie. Take care. Greg with KC-20; , who works in a skateboard/snowboard shop-21; Molly, who is a day care supervisor-18; and Ellen who got a D in Science so can't take her learner's permit test yet and is disappointed at 15. Happy Holidays, peace and love to everyone. ps: Bree--thanks a million for setting up this miracle of a group list.
