Guest guest
I posted this on LACTNET and didn't ge t asignle response or comment. Probably should have started here in the first place. I seem to be collecting quite a number of patients who are inducing lactation for adoption. Because I am a small private practice, I do not file insurance but give them the Medela guide for reimbursement. I was wondering if anyone out there has experience with insurance covering equipment, medications, or consults for this type of case. I would like to share this information in general with my patients along with any tips for getting coverage. Thanks! WOW -- do you mind sharing which ins. co. covered the donor milk (if you know)? Here in TX medicaid has covered for many of our foster babies, but **I'm** not familiar with private sector co's that have paid (not that they don't). Mom's in our area report ins is not paying for domperidone because it doesn't have FDA approval in the US. ;-(( Dawn , CD (DONA), IBCLC Austin, TX
Guest guest
Although we have Domperidone available at our local compounding pharmacies (Charlotte, NC area), the mothers tell me that their insurance companies do not cover it or that the pharmacy does not file it. They can file the receipt themselves but the pharmacy does not acccept the drug co-pay. Anyone else see it filed?
