Guest guest
Not that scary to me but yes different. I have seen even the most qualified CIHs come up with some pretty outlandish and costly ways to deal with mold Wane wether cleanup, remediation, codes or anything for that matter. Shane Mold Monster! [was: hell in a handbasket] scary, isn't it? Guest guest
here we go again with the CIH bashing. using your own words: how could anyone (CIH or not) who prescribes " outlandish " and " costly " measures be " the most qualified " ? Shane, you've clearly made this issue your personal quest. based on our previous off-list communications, I have some understanding of your history. I'm very sorry that your experience with another (or others) in my chosen profession was distasteful. but please stop lumping us all together. you've been spreading your slanderous message on this list and on the previous IAQ list for many, many months. please knock it off. have you actually looked at Fry's website? do you really believe it's anything but a get-rich-quick scheme? did you happen to notice that they're incorporated in Belize?!? in our firm, we apply truly diligent efforts to remain current with a range of technical publications. we're also active in the AIHA, ASHRAE, ASM and ISIAQ. we've combined the true professional-level credentials (licensed professional engineers and certified industrial hygienist), and support those people with an in-house graduate microbiologist. do you suppose some $1.69 " certification " from Fry's group is going to yield the same type of expertise? do you really think that attending his class is going to arm neophytes with the broad-based technical background that's needed to understand and address damp buildings in a cost-effective manner? I think not! the so-called expert that Stacey recently brought to our attention is also quite obviously a snake oil salesman. how can you possibly defend these guys? I'd like to suggest that you re-read the column I authored on the subject of mold certifications, which was published in the July 2004 issue of Wisconsin Builder magazine; see: http://www.wibuilder.com/hatsoff/construction-corner.html Wane <><><><><><><><><><><><> Wane A.
