From: exercisevideos [mailto:exercisevideos ] On Behalf Of I had planned to treat myself to a long workout today, wanting to do Kathy 's Walking for Weight Loss but ended up doing the 20 minute " Ultimate Cardio " workout from the WW DVD " Next Move " because I was taking care of a bunch of work stuff before my workout. Then had to go to work right after. It was a good 20 minutes though. I put everything I had into it and was actually in my zone for most of the 20 minutes! I think we're going out for dinner as a family tonight but I'm not sure. We might just bring in Chinese. I only know I'm not cooking! DH volunteered for him & the kids to cook but that means I'd end up supervising and we wouldn't eat until very late because it would take them forever. No thanks. Having kind of a down day, lots of stress from work this morning. Really missing my birth mom (who died in September) too but I got an ecard from her and husband (my aunt & uncle) which means so much to me. I've been trying to do a taking care of me kind of day because of it all and because it is after all, my birthday so why not? Back to my book (part of taking care of me means taking time to just sit & read and ignore all the stuff piled up around me that needs doing). Just wanted to at least post my workout. Very few things are truly " urgent " , we just make mountains out of molehills sometimes, I know I do! Being a perfectionist has it's plusses and minuses for sure. Hope you liked Ultimate Cardio! I had to go from Ann Arbor to Hamburg (near Brighton) and it was just slow. Then I had another class about 5 minutes away (normally) in the evening that took me about 10, so double but in this case, not a bad double. I used to drive from Dearborn to here and in bad weather that was REALLY bad. Garden City to Farmington Hills wouldn't be a whole lot of fun in bad weather either. Thanks again for the birthday wishes and sweet thoughts. I realized I missed a word when I typed earlier. I got an ecard from my birth mom's sister and the sister's husband. I met them for the first time at my bmom's funeral. Her sister (my aunt) is as wonderful as my birth mom was and I am very grateful for her. I've been keeping it as quiet as I can today. Reading when I've been able to and even took a short nap on the couch when I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I decided I can't deal with the noise of restaurants tonight so DH is going to get us Chinese food (my favorite). I ended up getting a phone call from my birth mother's husband, telling me he wanted me to hear from him, as a way of somehow hearing from her. We had a wonderful, long conversation and by the time we hung up, I felt so cared for and loved. I am very grateful to be able to get to know my birth family (he isn't my birth father but that's okay). We had a really great evening with my dad & step-mother yesterday too. Good food and conversation. I got a surprise card from my co-workers Thursday too and birthday hugs and my mother-in-law, who is also awesome, wants us to come over sometime this week for more celebrating. It is coming together in some surprisingly wonderful ways. It was very hard but is getting much better (and I'm celebrating more in the way my birth mom would want, as her husband reminded me too).
