Hi everyone,

I was reading some of the posts on here about crushing or splitting

meds for our children. First of all, check with your doctor before

you do this. As a former med-tech, I know how hard it is to get

people to take medication, my son is very much in that group. However,

some medications are time released, which mean that they have to

dissolve a certain amount of time in the stomach before they hit the

bloodstream. When you crush the pills or split them, it speeds up

that time, which in some medications can be dangerous, or affects the

body's response to the medication. So please take the precaution to

check and see if the medication is safe to crush or split.
