Guest guest
Norris, If you don’t have a copy already, you may want to pick up the IICRC S500 from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification. It is a "Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration". There are usually courses available that use the IICRC S500 as classroom material. If you do an internet search using key words like "IICRC S500" and "education", you will likely come up with a number of hits. While this material is not necessarily dedicated to cleaning structures of infiltrated soil during a flooding situation, courses do typically cover this matter. There is another document by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification called the IICRC S520. This documents deal with mold remediation in structures. This may be of less use to you but it certainly worth a look. Mold contamination is almost always an ensuing problem that has to be dealt with in a post flooding situation. The irony of your seeking more education in this area is that you would likely be able to add as much or more to a course offering as you would likely get out of it considering your background. Soil that enters a home during flooding in most cases is treated as nothing more than debris that has to be shoveled, power vacuumed, or hosed out as a prelude to the "real" cleanup and restoration. Unless the soil is known to contain "other" contaminants, it is typically treated with no more regard than fill dirt brought in for the garden. I would be interested to hear from you about the constituent microbiology of the topsoil that typically gets carried into a dwelling during a flood situation in an urban and suburban areas. When I think of all of the flooded sewer mains and private septic systems that contribute to the floodwaters and accumulated soils, I tend to shudder. Guest guest
Dear , I am really sorry you and your son are going through this dreadful experience. As well as thinking about bio-med etc are there any other ways you could get help? It sounds like an urgent referral to CAMHS is needed and it might be worth asking the GP and paediatrician for a full investigation too - it might be that he is physically ill with something they could at least diagnose even if they didn't have much by way of treatment. Vicky got a report from her CAMHS for one of her children that was very useful. Forgive me for these suggestions if you've already tried everything - I know how annoying ham-fisted " advice " can be. There is so much that can go wrong with our children and it's especially difficult when they can't tell us what's happening. - I would also be weanting to go intop school to see what's happening, Sometimes there is bullying and the school refuses to acknowledge it: I have heard several parents for my son's old school say that the school denied it was happening for years. I am finally trying to get help via CAMHS, though I don't expect the local service will do anything much. I am also looking into whether the Tavistock in London has an appropriate service (maybe not, but would need the local CAMHS to refer us). Social services have cut our help and Henry's behaviour is I think getting worse. (Others have said so, too.)I have just bought this book form Amazon (Already have a pdf of it, but want a copy to take to the apointment with CAMHS.)Developing Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents with Learning Disabilities: A Toolkit for Clinicians : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1904671616/ref=oss_product Margaret > > thank mandy , ds is 11 years old now, and yes aggression was mainly due to > bacteria in the past but puberty made it really bad, things go worse last night > when he decided he was going to jump out of his bedroom window and we live in a > third floor flat lucky the windows have catches on them so he didn't succeed but > spend the rest of the night trying to get out the window i have window locks but > have a very angry child as a result, is there any details on the metamatrix test > i'm sure we have had clostridia before will check later > > melissaxx > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe > Sent: Mon, June 6, 2011 7:15:19 PM > Subject: Re: help > >  > Sounds like he may need prescription Rx to sort him out.
