Guest guest
I suppose that's what was once called the District Nurse. That is, the nurse delegated officially to oversee patients. Could it be 'Visitatrice Sanitaria'? I can remember ours: she wore a navy uniform, a funny hat, and men's shoes! Guest guest
<< I guess it's my fault as I haven't provided a context. However it is a nurse working in an operating room (and it is NOT the scrub nurse), that's why 's suggestion maked perferct sense to me.>> <<Infermiere di Sala Operatoria?>> So how do you differentiate, in Italian, between the scrub nurse and the circulating nurse both of whom work in the operating theatre? The scrub nurse has scrubbed up, wears sterile clothing and hands instruments to the surgeon, while the circulating nurse " circulates " around the operating theatre to fetch whatever instruments are needed. Guest guest
Dear Stefania, considering your hurry... I called my nurse friend and she explained, as I told you in private, that there are at least three nurses. Only the one that passes the instruments ( " strumentista " , not ferrista) is scrubbed. The other ones are: " infermiera anestesista " and " infermiera di sala " (also called " infermiera circolante " )! See the link below: http://www.ipasvi.roma.it/italiano/arcobaleno/vol_11.pdf Hope it helps Giovanna * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Giovanna Massari En>It, Fr>It Translator & Interpreter En>It ATA Certified Member Tel. +39 030 - 6811189 Brescia - Italy giovanna.doc@... Guest guest
Dear Giovanna, THANKS A MILLION!!! You just confirmed what I have just found on a website, by the way! Also grazie for taking the trouble of making a phone call for me! :-) Stefania Re: EN>IT: Circulating Nurse > > > > Dear , > > > > Well, I am not quite sure that I should use " infermiere anestesista " in > the > > text I am translating, because this nurse is supposed to... > > > > > > > URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/medical_translation > > In case of any problem with this list, you can reach the moderator at cgtradmed@..., or at cgtradmed@.... > The FAQs of our list are available at : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/medical_translation/files/M_T-FAQS.doc > The NEW FREE " Medical Translators Database " (MTDB, the most reliable assistant to find the ideal Medical Translator, is available at http://cgtradmed-com.ifrance.com/cgtradmed-com/MedicalTranslators.htm. > > To unsubscribe, please send an *empty* message to > medical_translation-UNSUBSCRIBE >
