when does the regression end?

My 6 year old has been on valtrex about 2 weeks now. After the first

few days, I noticed that his attention was worse. It has gotten even

worse since, and he now has a rash on his face. He is also very

obstinate, and at the same time more engaged, social and interactive

than he has been in a long time. His eye contact is wonderful. He

however is scripting up a storm - he now loves to repeat and act out

scenes from his favorite movies over and over. It hasn't replaced real

interaction, but it is frequent. How long does the regression usually

last?

Thanks!

It's good news when you can see some gains mixed in the regression. The

regressive-

healing stage often lasts 10 to 40 days, typically three weeks.
