I don't suppose you know offhand if this applies to the STS push pull tower?

I just copied this post from VF - apparently STS is REALLY on sale - wow!!!______I just saw this on Cathe's Facebook. They lowered the price of the STS 36 disc set with user guide to $199 and this week only you can order

for an additional 30% off. I couldn't resist because I've been looking

at this set for quite a while but couldn't justify the price. I ordered it this morning and my total was $140 which included free shipping. I'm really excited

And the price.. if it's correct can NOT be beat!D

Judy, this is an amazing program! It's easier with the right equipment, but you can probably do subs for the stuff using the bar and step. I hope to do another round as soon as I regain some mobility in my hand.

ohh but I don't have step nor the bar right.. I don't need this right :)judy who is liking strength training

Quite true. It's worth the original price. It's the best program I've ever purchased. It's so carefully thought out. The progression is sensible and safe.

It would be helpful to have them, but I'm sure you could improvise. Here is the official list of equipment: " The equipment needed for STS is a bench or step, a weight adjustable barbell, a wide variety of dumbbells, a stability ball, a resistance band, paper plates, and good focus. Other pieces of equipment are totally optional such as a pull up bar (or tubing), weighted vest, ankle weights, micro load weighted gloves, and slanted risers. "

I've seen comments on the cathe forums where some people prefer to use dumbbells only. I think that's because they don't like the dominant side of the body helping the weaker side.

I also think you can do much of the bench stuff on the floor. There are some exercises using a bench on an incline, like incline chest presses. It might be tougher to improvise for those.

For elevated lunges, you can probably put your foot on a small footstool.

You could get creative.

Knees: I had no trouble, but my knees are pretty good right now. I'll let somebody else answer that one. It felt safe to me.

I'm sure you could make it work easy enough without the step... and you can always use dumbbells in place of a barbell, you'll just have to hold onto them differently.

Exciting, keep us posted on what you decide!D

, I think you might need to change the name of this list to Exercise Video Enablers! *SIGH* Such an awesome price for this set! Must... not... open... wallet.... (or anyone else who can answer this) -- how does STS compare to P90X? It sounds like there are a lot more workouts in STS, and the word "thoughtful" comes to mind a lot, as in, there's a lot of thought out into the workouts: when certain muscle groups are used, the duration, the duration of rest, etc. Would you consider this a "step up" from P90X, maybe?TIA,NamikoTo: exercisevideos Sent: Mon, January 10, 2011 2:38:18 PMSubject: Re: STS Sale

Hi Namiko,This list should be renamed, LOL!I'll have to let somebody else answer that because I don't have P90x. I think there are threads at the Cathe Forums comparing the two. I don't know if it's a step up, but it does look pretty different.

alright my concern with STS (and sort of P90X) is the amount of STUFF you need...and then time to put it all together etc... I really don't have more than 60 min at most for a workout and my space is very limited in my little shared row house.I workout in my living room (that I share with 2 males whose main workout is finding the remote!)So... I have over extended my welcome there with my Bosu and weights and ball ... they let me get a wii so they could watch netflix and the fitboard fits under couch as does my wave fits and no more room under there... . I may get a spin bike but it goes in garage (ok as it is insulated and ok for workout as it has no cars..but I can't put barbells, step, etc ... pull up bars won't work in our doors (wrong size)I guess I may have to pass...and

Judy it sounds like you already have plenty of virgin workouts to keep you busy til doing P90X and STS come up?  Blissology, Slim Series, ChaLEAN Extreme, that Pilates set you got, etc.  I hear ya, I want it ALL.  I have room but am super poor right now.  Sometimes I get blue that I can't have this or that but then I look at my virgin pile in detail and then I want to try those too.

Hugs,

Judy it sounds like you already have plenty of virgin workouts to keep you busy til doing P90X and STS come up? Blissology, Slim Series, ChaLEAN Extreme, that Pilates set you got, etc. I hear ya, I want it ALL. I have room but am super poor right now. Sometimes I get blue that I can't have this or that but then I look at my virgin pile in detail and then I want to try those too.

Hugs,

alright my concern with STS (and sort of P90X) is the amount of STUFF you need...and then time to put it all together etc... I really don't have more than 60 min at most for a workout and my space is very limited in my little shared row house.

I workout in my living room (that I share with 2 males whose main workout is finding the remote!)So... I have over extended my welcome there with my Bosu and weights and ball ... they let me get a wii so they could watch netflix and the fitboard fits under couch as does my wave fits and no more room under there... . I may get a spin bike but it goes in garage (ok as it is insulated and ok for workout as it has no cars..

but I can't put barbells, step, etc ... pull up bars won't work in our doors (wrong size)I guess I may have to pass...and

on P90X if I really need more stuff... and space.

Hi Namiko,This list should be renamed, LOL!I'll have to let somebody else answer that because I don't have P90x. I think there are threads at the Cathe Forums comparing the two. I don't know if it's a step up, but it does look pretty different.

, I think you might need to change the name of this list to Exercise Video Enablers!

Would you consider this a "step up" from P90X, maybe?

TIA,Namiko

It would be helpful to have them, but I'm sure you could improvise. Here is the official list of equipment:"The equipment needed for STS is a bench or step, a weight adjustable barbell, a wide variety of dumbbells, a stability ball, a resistance band, paper plates, and good focus. Other pieces of equipment are totally optional such as a pull up bar (or tubing), weighted vest, ankle weights, micro load weighted gloves, and slanted risers."

It felt safe to me.

ok STS people.. do I need a barbell and step?? and how safe is it on knees?? what equipment do I need?I have adjustable dumbbells that go from 10 to 90 lb each...

judy who sees the results and is tempted.. since boyfriend hasn't gotten P90X yet

Videos] STS Sale

I just copied this post from VF - apparently STS is REALLY on sale - wow!!!______I just saw this on Cathe's Facebook. They lowered the price of the STS 36 disc set with user guide to $199 and this week only you can order

for an additional 30% off. I couldn't resist because I've been looking

at this set for quite a while but couldn't justify the price. I ordered it this morning and my total was $140 which included free shipping. I'm really excited

Here's the link: http://shop.cathe.com/STS_36_DVD_Series_p/748.htm

Use coupone code FP-30
