Guest guest
I had TCS surgey on 4/20. I do have a tonsillar herniation of 3-5mm, EDS, retroflexed odontoid. My biggest complaint before the surgery was pain in my legs and the bottom of my feet. I also have alot of neck, back of head pain. Right after the surgery my legs felt better, but in the last couple of weeks the leg and foot pain has returned. Has this happened to any of you? I have called TCI three times and they have not returned my calls. I'm just wondering if this is normal and it will take a while for my legs to feel better again or if this relief should have been lasting since it did improve right after surgery but then got worse again. I am concerned because I have missed so much work over the past couple of years because of these problems and I thought this was going to be my solution. Also, a couple of weeks before surgery I passed out and fell and broke a rib so I'm hoping that my tonsils will go back up into my brain over the next couple of months. What have other people experienced with TCS surgery? Have any of you had to go on to have any other surgeries at TCI? Thanks for the help. Guest guest
Okay... replying to the group. Anyone that had surgery less than a month ago may still be experiencing swelling etc so I would give it more time. Also you need to watch how much activity you do. I truly believe many of us may feel good and try to do too much. The best advice I got after my decompression was that over the next year you will get old symptoms back, some weird new ones etc... BUT this does not mean you ignore anything serious!! Ie.. coughing, fever, increased headaches, sudden high blood pressure or anything else that can be a concern that you could have an infection, or something like meningitis etc... if in doubt I think you should always mention to a doctor. With the doctor comment said... please if your doctor is one of the chiari experts far away make sure you have a local pcp or someone that can watch you for infection, pnemonia etc...
