I have been taking my son to dr. Rao for a few years now. My son

has a severe case of yeast overgrowth, it took us years to get it

under control. His yeast was so bad, his sweat smelled like

alchohol, and he sweated profusely, especially at night. My son was

also placed on antibiotics for ear infection most of his life as an

infant, at one point, he was on antibiotics non-stop for one full

year.

As a result his yeast was off the charts, and he is now highly

allergic to most antibiotics (sulfa, penicillin).

In terms of labs, every child's lab is different, I have seen quite a

few OATS and Porphyrin tests, none of them had the same exact

results. The levels were different for each child, some had high

yeast, some did not, etc...

been reading all your e-mails. They have been helpful and inspiring.

I've finally gathered the courage to write a topic because I was

hoping someone could help me.My son is 3 and may have Pdd-nos. We

recently went to Dr. Rao in Dallas(has anyone else been to him?). He

ordered tests on my son. A peptides test that goes to France and the

OAT test by the Great Plains Lab. I've been surfing the internet and

found a thread that says the test results from France and GPL all

come back the same(high heavy metal toxicity in the system) and yeast

candida overgrowth. Is this true? Has anyone had these tests done and

they came back normal? I just want to know if they are accurate or if

these labs send the same results to everyone because they know we get

them done because our kids have ASD's. I would appreciate any help I

can get.Thanks so much!!
