While there are things that we do decide to not deal with at times (Hannah's PE situation for example) there are a couple of hard and fast rules that I don't want to budge on. One of them is attending school and the other is not sleeping with me. As you said in your post, there are many families who make other choices and I think that it is fine for people to choose. I think that because sleep issues involve everyone being tired and desperate for relief and because school issues involve other people like students and teachers, people tend to bend on these and allow the OCD to control the situation. I know that it is so hard to fight a child who is afraid to stay in their own room or afraid to walk into the classroom but having dealt with both and succeeded, I know how wonderful it is to watch that same child climb into bed happy or go through that door at school, lunchbox in hand.
