Guest guest
-I haven't been following the list lately but wanted to reply to you because we are also waiting for prozac to work. My child came off celexa and just started prozac on Saturday. It's been just horrible. Our home doesn't seem to have any happiness anymore. Just anger and sadness and crying. We don't know how to handle our child anymore. He can't do any homework. Just getting throught the day is a big enough challange. He's not keeping up at school. Doesn't want to go to school anymore. I don't blame him. Some kids stare at him and he knows that they think he's weird. Trying to do work is really hard for him. He doesn't even want to get out of bed anymore because of all the compulsions he has to do. This made him an hour late for school yesterday. It now seems to be affecting his sister. She cries over every little thing and worries about me crying. I just feel like all of us are falling apart. I just keep praying that the prozac will start to work soon because I just can't take every day being like this. I didn't know it could get this bad. We got in to the psyciatrist today on an emergency appointment but my husband had to take our son to it without me because our daughter got sick. I'm still waiting for them to come home. Hopefully he has something to help us. Anyways I'm sure it'll get better. I just hope its soon. I'm sure it'll get better for you too. It's a very sad thing to watch a child go through. -- In , " Sandy Dunavan " <sdunavan@e...> wrote: > <<I just wanted to let you know that it has never taken 12 weeks for > medication to work for my daughter - you might see improvement much sooner. > At any rate, you will almost certainly see SOME improvement sooner if > Prozac is going to help him>> > > Thanks for this, it helps to hear it. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, Seems I've read somewhere about vivid dreams before. Also insomnia. Can't recall what medication it related to but I'm sure it had to be an SSRI since I read so many OCD notes here and in another group. Poor little guy, I just applaud him for making it TO school with all the anxiety/stress!! Perhaps that might be his only goal for now and then add a little later (re the fountain or getting ready for school). I'm sure as the medication builds up in his system towards a more therapeutic dose, that you'll both see improvement! Keep us updated. > <<I just wanted to let you know that it has never taken 12 weeks for > medication to work for my daughter - you might see improvement much sooner. > At any rate, you will almost certainly see SOME improvement sooner if > Prozac is going to help him>> > > Thanks for this, it helps to hear it.
