Distended belly is stool/gas!! Sounds like possibly mobility issue!! I say this due to you mentioned her belly is flattened when you do the enemas! She may not be moving fast enough. What about gas drops/pills to help with the bloating(gastro said they are safe and actually loosen stool). I dont use but rarely, still leary of possible affects I dont know about. I well occaisionally give to my son with his food. Sounds like you need to add something to help things move along faster. What are you using? I am curious what has worked for you!! CONGRATULATIONS on the No miralax. Dont give up. We are on our second day without NO miralax(have weened from 2 adult doses, trouble with the last little bit), and so far, going good(aloe vera). Jennie<>< ps. we also are wanting a juicer!!jhud2 wrote: Hi group, Abby has been off miralax for about 3 months, after being on it for 7 years. I think the damage that was done to her may be permanent. I thought she would be functioning better, but motor-wise things are the same and her belly remains distended. The only time I see it somewhat flat or flatter is when she has an enema which I only do as needed, maybe twice a month. I'm wondering if

this is from inflammation and colitis or if she is just not getting cleaned out enough. She is also like me that when she eats a meal she gets bloated. I'm also wondering if any of you juice? With a power juicer, I mean? Am thinking of purchasing one for my health and hopefully for Abby as well. Has this helped your child's constipation issues?? Thanks for your thoughts. Kathy

Her belly is so big she can't even wear normal pants. Only elastic waist and no jeans. She was bloated on Miralax too but

thought that would get better. She's having a BM about every other day, which is pretty good, but daily would be better.

She's on lactulose and mag. citrate ( about 600 mg daily). Yes, I'm thrilled about the NO MIRALAX, thought she would never

get off it !!! She took one capful daily starting at age 5 and around age 8 she stopped making progress and actually has more

problems now. I wonder what she would be like today if we did not use that awful stuff............................

Yeah, I'm hoping to get a juicer soon to help detox myself with fruits and veggies and maybe loose some weight too.

Is she getting gassy/bloating from the lactulose? That is a side

effect. I don't think the magnesium citrate does that at all. How

much lactulose and how often? Is it expensive?
