Guest guest
Hi Marg, I do not have personal experience with Miralax. I am on this loop because my dd has severe chronic constipation and I am to actually fix the problem. I agree that the archive messages will be of great benifit to you. The experience of these ladies and their children are heart breaking to say the least. My lil' girls doc tried to get me to put her on Miralax when she was just under a year old. She has been plagued with this curse since she was 4 1/2 months. Huge red flags came up when I read that it was not to be given to children and she was just reaching toddler stage!!! I didn't give it to her. It was later that I realize that the horrid med that I had heard about on this loop was the same med that the doc wanted me to give my girl!! Was I ever thankful for the red flags!!! The constipation (which is a horrible, horrible night mare) looks like a walk in the park compared to what the children f some of these dear ladies have gone through. I do know that the FDA is not to be trusted. The approve and bless meds that kill every day. I never trust my doctor's word even though he is of the same faith as me. Simply because he is still a doctor that sees meds as a good thing. For us we use every alternative option we know of before resorting to medicine. It has worked and we are greatful. I realize that it is not always the case for everyone with every illness, but these are my reasons for disliking Miralax. Please do read the archives. They are very enlightining. Guest guest
Hi Marg!! Most of our opinions are that it is very toxic(cellular level with anti freeze somehow, dont quite understand) and causing many medical issues with its use! We noticed immediate affects with our son, pale, sunkin face, dark circles under eyes, lots and lots of urine (surely this couldnt be a good affect with the kidneys). I also suspect it made our sons motility worse and now needs med almost 3yrs later to have gi contractions. I feel the miralax made him very dependent on needing more and more to get things going to the point that now needs this med for stomach dumping/intestinal contractions! The only pro was at first it did work, that was nice, but with all the side affects and needing more and more over time! Once they was getting ready to up his dose to 17g(adult dose) x 3 a day(he is only about 45lbs), I said that is it, we are done!! I truely believe it added salt to the wound and maybe even permanitly damaged him, I pray this isnt the case! Wish I would have known in the beginning to use natural instead, but I trusted gastro!
