Guest guest
Thanks , I all ready talked to the guidance counselor, also on the day she became upset in school Kate directly spoke to the guidance counselor who told me she was very upset. (She is usually not much help with the teachers. She did ask the teacher to call me, teacher refused! I spoke to the Child study team CM , she is basically useless, her response was chemistry is a subject that requires cumulative knowledge! Hum, isnt that what home instruction suppose to be??? (LOL) Thanks for the support, I had to e-mail before I exploded. Always safe to vent here everyone always understands! oh yeah, when my husband came home he said the school accidently called him to set up a meeting for Tuesday AM Should be interesting. How is Anne doing controlling her diabetes?, My (HUGS) to both of you also, I know how hard it is to have medical issues on top of ocd. Its so hard on the kids, since the medical issues if out of control tend to be a ocd trigger. Tough on us mothers too. Thanks again. Guest guest
Hi, Lori, Sorry that this has been so difficult! If I can help, let me know. I'm a chemistry teacher. It might be tough to tutor by email, but it might work... > Thanks , > I all ready talked to the guidance counselor, also on the day she became > upset in school > Kate directly spoke to the guidance counselor who told me she was very upset. > (She is usually not much help with the teachers. Guest guest
Lori, reading your post really drove the point home to me how lucky I am that my daughters have had such understanding teachers. When Hannah's appendix ruptured when she was in fourth grade she missed almost a month of school. Her teacher laughed at me when I asked for her make up work and said that her only assignment was to get better. She said that if there was anything Hannah needed to do to move on, she'd let me know. I remember her giving us a couple of math papers with new concepts on them but that is all. This was even before the diagnosis of OCD, which was brought on by the surgery. I am so sorry that you have to deal with all of this and that your daughter is not being treated with the understanding and kindness she deserves. Keep going higher on the ladder of authority until you get someone who will be on your side. The teacher has to follow the IEP by law and you need to make sure that everyone is aware that you know that. Good luck!
