Then I tried goat milk. My first source had that goaty flavor. SHe would drink it when very fresh then no way. Just recently I found another goat source. It has no goaty flavor. SHe and I both love it. I did find that she would eat yogurt made from any kind of milk. Especially with a little honey or maple syrup in it. Don't know if its possible for you to change sources. WHen you have children you can always stop at places where you see farm animals and ask if you can watch the animals. Then seque the conversation into milk and what they do with theirs and how much you loved raw as a kid... Guest guest
Fortunately I didn't have this problem. My eight year old was sceptical when she tasted the milk at first but immediately decided she would rather go without milk if she couldn't have it fresh and raw. A lot of people have good luck with switching kids/hesitant adults over slowly. Take the milk jug and at first add only 1/4 raw milk, do that for a week or two, then move it up to 1/2 raw milk, keep doing this till it is straight raw milk and leave them drinking it from the store bought container for several months, then depending upon the persons adversity either inform them at some point, or don't. It seems to work quite well, mainly because it allows them to think they are drinking store bought, which is usually the problem for most of them, some hang up about drinking raw milk. Guest guest
When I bought my first (and only, so far) run of goat milk, I gave some to my two-year old. When it came time to get him another sippy-cup (later that day), he SPECIFICALLY pointed out the jar he wanted his milk from (and not the store-bought gallon. When he saw me pull that out, he said " No, I want THAT one (pointing to the goat milk jar)). Don't tell me children don't know what's better for them. Too smart for their own good, sometimes... ;-) Peace, Blane Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts... - Col. 3:15a Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right. - Henry Ford ******************************************************* " Amy Lee Waters " <amyleewaters@co To: <RawDairy > mcast.net> cc: Subject: Re: RE: chunky globs on 06/25/2004 05:51 top of milk... Guest guest
We started out drinking raw milk completely skimmed. Then I started skimming less. If you skim the heavy cream off at a day or two, then the rest of the cream will shake back in without leaving clumps. -- [mxGuard SPAM?] Re: RE: chunky globs on top of milk... Guest guest
often a straw will work. the texture and mouth feel is different. I personally would go for pasteurized not homo-d over no milk. still a decent food. have had many a kid use straws and gett into their raw milk www.MajestyFarm.comNorth Garden, Virginia Re: RE: chunky globs on top of milk...
