Worse than OCD?

I think I've found something I hate worse than OCD: installing a

dishwasher. Make that TRYING to install a dishwasher.

I've spent about all of Friday, most of Saturday and a bit of today

(note the time spent going down) trying to install a new dishwasher

to replace the old one that hasn't worked in years. Directions

sounded simple. But of course it's not! I'm going to the hardware

store tomorrow to try to find a part my brother said he thought would

work easier for me and then I give up! Mom can call someone

professional. (we live with my mother)

I really think the dishwasher fiasco has at least tied with my worst

nights of putting up with 's OCD, maybe even surpassed them!!

SIGH! I guess the only thing worse would be if 's OCD was

acting up and trying to cope with both! I guess that's a little bit

of a blessing!!

Speaking of , only one teacher showed up for our 504 Plan

meeting last week. His band teacher, who he had last semester. So

no one new for this semester could make it. His history teacher did

call me at work and we talked. But the others - one couldn't make it

due to his wife being sick. And the guidance counselor just didn't

THINK to invite the substitute he's having for science for this 6

week grading period since she's a substitute and not regular teacher

(regular teacher in bad shape in hospital, probably won't be back;

began with the FLU!).

So - at my suggestion - the science sub and I will talk (she called

last Friday, I missed the call). I told the guidance counselor that

I felt it was important she be aware of the 504 Plan and any possible

problems since she IS teaching .

The guidance counselor did ask all last semester teachers about

. She let me read the notes and what she'd jotted down they'd

said: extremely smart; asks a lot of questions and teacher may get

the impression he is thinking he knows it all but that that is

definitely NOT what he is doing (or something like that); keep

encouraging; build self-esteem; (I asked about the last 2, she said

that they felt he was shy) Oh and that his writing is hard to read

but it gets easier as you get used to it (hasn't worked for ME!)

I talked with the band director, he said was fine. I did

mention the band concert and the " not knowing where he should sit "

incident so he'll keep an eye out for this spring concert.

OK, I'm going to try to catch up on all the notes I've missed these

last days! Hope it's all good news!!
