Guest guest
My understanding is that these bills are post transplant since they are anethesia bills..................If so, yes you are right they should be billed to the recipient's insurance or the recipient's Medicare Part B, depending on which is primary and who the payer is. The hospital bill for the donor however should continue to come to the KACC . If your transplant center has negotiated any contracts with insurance companies that include the payment of physician fees then the bills may be coming to the transplant center to be paid as part of a contracted package. If they are bills for cadaveric donors they should have been instructed to bill the OPO. Hope this helps. Have a great day. (medicare insurance or private ins. reipients). Is a right that the anethesia dept. should bill directly the insurance's recipient? or is a part of the kidney acquisition costs?
