Hi guys,

Please take a minute to sign the petition for Community Now. We need

as many signatures as possible and you can make a difference for

people with disabilities who live in state institutions. To find out

more about the mission of Community Now and to sign the petition I'll

include the web address to Community Now and another to the petition.

March and Rally coming up on February 26th.

9:30- Gather in front of the Bob Bullock Museum and pick up T-Shirts

(everyone who attends the March/Rally will receive a free most awesome

Community Now! T-shirt...one of a kind. Donations will be accepted if

the spirit so moves. Additional T-Shirts will be available at a cost

of $15.00)

10:00- The March will begin from the Bob Bullock Museum to the North

Steps of the Capitol. This will be a single file march with the

exception of those holding long banners. Please bring your own home

made sign!

10:30: Rally in front of the North Steps. Key Legislative leaders

and statewide community advocate leaders will speak along with chants

and songs!

11:00: March into the Capitol to the Rotunda for a moment of silence

for those who have died in institutions, those who are at risk and

those who have waited for so long on the waiting list.

11:15: We split into designated groups to personally deliver a packet

of signed petitions to the Legislators named on the petition.

11:45: Go with your group for lunch at the building on 15th

street and N. Congress.

1:00: So Long!

The purpose of these events is to send a clear message to our

legislative leaders to support the development of a long range plan to:

* Get everyone out of state institutions who choose to leave and

close the facilities we no longer need.

* Re-direct resources saved from institution closures to fund the ALL

of the waiting lists

* Fully Fund ALL of the Waiting Lists

* Ensure Community Services and Supports infra-structure that is

accountable and centered in the principles of self determination.
