Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have a 5.7 yr old son that is non-verbal and not currently receiving speech therapy. He is a ABA home program that is working on PECS and " some " oral motor programs although I definitely feel he is not receiving enough in the speech department. Dr. G has recommended taking him to see Dr. Fosnat. I know she does not accept insurance and that I will need to pay for the evaluation myself ($800.00). My question is, has anyone been successful at getting the insurance to reimburse them for the evaluation cost? Secondly, and my most important question is, does anyone know a good speech therapist in the San Valley area that works on oral motor? I asked this same question to Dr. Fosnat's office and they could not recommend anyone to me in my area. The only speech therapist that I know of works for our school district and she has never worked with a non-verbal autistic child before. I suppose I could ask my local pediatrician if she knows anyone, but I thought I'd post it to the group first. I have Blue Shield PPO. Thanks!
