Guest guest
In a nutshell......there was a story line about a mom with three kids....the oldest having autism. She had decided to not vaccinate the other two and the middle child gets measles. Lots of talk from all the docs how they should call CPS, she is a child abuser etc, even Dell, the office manager/midwife gets on board and tries to get full custody of his child after he finds out his ex doesn't know if the child's shots are up to date. Then a predictable ending, the child with measles dies......as if that is the certain outcome if you do not vaccinate your kids. Big load of fear mongering. > > what was it about? > > Private Practice > > > Did anyone else just watch Private Practice?? Guest guest
Yup. I guess someone just had to try to make a point when we as parents know what we know! They should've atleast addressed something about staggering the shots. I was bawling thru the whole situation since I (as many) know what that mom was feeling (even though she was a 'character' on the show). It even made me pull out the pictures of when was a baby...seeing and thinking about the bright 'awake' eyes he had breaks my heart all over again! This reminded me of a letter requesting donations I received three Christmas' ago. It was a letter from a father about his son w/ Autism who was making progress and even stating 'I Love you' with meaning. Then at the end of that letter it said the son died in his sleep...for no aparent reason. I HATED the group that sent that to me, even to this day, due to the fact that the unknowns (and truths) are so great and devistating for some. I bawled my eyes out several times that night, slept w/ my son, and even when I think about it today I can't handel it. The few people I told about it to I couldn't keep my conposure due to the fear for my son. My point is there are always going to be those who put the worse case senerios out there for us to think about even how devistating and how hard it is to think about. I know there are those parents who have been thru these situations....so there is a point of telling the stories, but it dosen't have to be as raw as they presented it. Our time on earth with our children is too precious to not do what we feel is necessary and right for our child!! Bless you all for all that you do for your babies!!
