Guest guest
Hi: My wife and I are new to the group and have what may seem to be a simple question. We have a 7.5 year old son who was diagnosed with autism at age 3. We began an ABA program right away and saw good progress. At the same time, we looked into medical treatments. He had a HHV6 test which revealed extremely high titers. He was started on Valtrex but we were not able to continue the treatment because we moved out of state to pursue his ABA program. Now we have a local doctor who is willing to prescribe Valtrex again but is unsure about the proper dosage. All of the dosage information we can find on the web is for genital herpes treatment. Does anyone know how to determine the proper dosage for a 7.5 year old boy who weighs approx. 75 lbs? Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Jim in Wisconsin
