Hi :

We're almost at the 5-week mark exactly (34 days), and are seeing a

lot of the same kinds of things. The aggression hit a peak for us that

is now starting to subside, I think. He was actually hitting us a week

ago. Now he just stamps his feet.

He's also had a fever for the last three days straight. Our MB-12

nasal spray arrived today, and I can't even give it to him because his

nose is so plugged up.

cheers, d.

What I can tell you is that we have lot a few families that have had to wait

this long to see

the gains on the other side. When they come off the child returns to the state

of pre-

valtrex. The fact that he still has a rash would lead me to believe your child

had a

particularly bad case of whatever it is that causes the rash (metals

excretion?).

What dose is he on? 250mg x3 per day?

I'm not sure what to advise. I've not seen anyone just come off Valtrex at this

stage and

recovery their child. Everyone who has stopped Valtrex at this stage and has

reported to

me says their child goes back to where they were prior to Vlatrex.

I personally would not be concerned about " getting your child back " (although I

was

nervous as well back in those days). I would consider the possibility of

lowering the

dosage for a few days and see if that helps (go from three times a day to two

times) the

symptoms, but I wouldn't just stop cold turkey.

You may want to consider renting the mercury meter that I just sent back. It's

a Jerome

431-X. You can rent it for a day for $175 ($8000.00 to purchase) and if you

rent it for a

Friday you get the weekend free.

Here are two places you can get it.

If you sense any mercury in the rash areas, that might help to rationalize

continuing.

Just a thought.

Umm... okay, wait. You have a lot or you have a few? Since I'm in the

same boat, it would be good to know.

Still waiting on those @#$^#@$ gains,

He is on a full dose. I wont stop yet, but when is enough enough. If

he is still like this in a month do we stop. When does it come to be

that maybe he is not tolerating it or the neg. will just take over

him until it is a habit that will not go away. What does everyone

think?

Hi ,

A few, but some. A typical non-responder doesn't have the regressive-healing

stage at

all.

I would throttle back to twice a day since we are passed the 5 week mark.

Hi all... new to the group. We work with a doc in Naperville, il. My daughter is 7 and we just got a script today for valtrex... must admit after the thread today, I'm a bit panicky about starting!!! If anyone has a minute to update a newbie, please email me privately. Thanks... looking forward to this chapter on our journey to recovery! Stan Kurtz wrote: Hi ,A few, but some. Hi ,

I know this is the feeling that some parents have. My wife was struggling with

it back in

the day as well. The quote " I just want my son back " was commonly used.

What he's feeling is more sick than anything else. If you take the Valtrex

away, he won't

feel sick anymore and he will return back to where he was IMO and my

observations of other reports.

But, some of the worst cases had a longer regression period.

Again, I would throttle back to two times a day and see what happens at this

point. I

wouldn't take him off. That's my opinion.

Either way, we have never have seen the regressive-healing stage become

perminant.

Keep us posted.

This is what I felt was best with Kreed's pneumonia-to go back on the dose,

I really didn't want to stop completely.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi there,

My son (HF-ASD) is on Valtrex (250 mg 3x a day) and doing really

great. He's been on it for about a month. I am also on it (1000 mg)

and my husband just started it.

In my humble opinion, I would say slow down the dosage and see if

this helps. My son reacted to ViraStop strong, so I slowly started

his Valtrex at 250 and then increased it over a period of a month.

My husband (Bipolar/viruses/strep syndrome and Bartonella) just

started Valtrex. The doctor is doing 500 mg every other day - just to

be sure it doesn't affect his mood too greatly. I gave her warning

because on 2 ViraStop enzymes a day for a week - my husband was a

mess (mentally, fever, cough, complete mess) and so she started him

out slow.

Also - I've found for all of us that an anti-fungal helps. When we

are stirring up all this stuff (virus/bacteria/metals) yeast flares

are common. I have my son on diflucan. My husband and I take garlic

daily. Also - we all take 6+ probiotics a day - on their own hours

apart from other supp/meds.

We are all on b-12 nasal/folic and about to start LDN in Dr. M's

study.

Good luck,

JEN
