It is a request for state funding to help pay for a trip to a medical conference like the lissencephaly get together with Dr. Dobyns. I found out about this fund two months after I had already went to the conference.. What I did to get money to go was - at my work here, I typed up a paragraph explaining my son's condition, why it was important to see Dr. Dobyns, and that I was a single mom with small salary and I would appreciate any help I could get. I put a little picture of Tyler (marketing ploy -HeHe) at the top and glued it on a big envelope and passed it around to all my friends here at work and my neighbors, friends and anyone who wanted to help out. I raised $985.00, all I needed to have to get to the conference was 965.00 One of the salesman here at work gave me frequent flyer miles (2 free tickets- my sister went with me).
