Thank you for your response. My son has been in therapy since before school

started. Once he told her everything he felt like he was done. I've pushed him

to go many more times since then and now he's clamming up and just getting

angry about going. I've explained the process, but how many 12 yr olds

understand

the process? I'm not sure if bribery will work or not. I have one other

question, Have you told your child that they hace ocd? I'm not sure whether or

not

to use the term. Will it scare him more? I've explained that his brain works

different and that's how the worries come. He calls them bad thoughts. I can't

believe he's been in school for three days straight. I'm afraid to relax. My 8

yr old has many stomach aches. I'm sure it affects her to, the stress in the

house.

So happy for you you found a friend w/ similar issues. That sure would help.

Thanks for your response. Take care,Marcy

I think that you should tell him that he has OCD. It helped both of my girls

tremendously to know that there is a reason for their issues and that it

isn't their fault. He will need to know what it is in order to overcome it. It

would be helpful if his sister could know too. He might be opposed to it but

it's a hard secret to keep. My youngest daughter was diagnosed first (at seven)

and when her sister, Hannah, developed symptoms a year later, Hannah refused

to let us tell for a year. We had to keep trying to explain Hannah's

bizarre behavior to and it was rough. It is so much better now that the

whole family is in on it! Good luck! Kelley in NV
