Guest guest
For any treatment to be effective an accurate diagnosis is needed. Have you had it tested and confirmed as ringworm? How are you applying the CS/DMSO, and what CS is it? It helps to let the list know exactly what your CS is. My first thought is that if this really is ringworm, alternating with gentian violet may be the problem. I have read a lot of success stories of ringworm being treated with CS/DMSO but none ever mentioned alternating with anything else. It is supposed to be very important to really saturate the lesion, and also an area surrounding the lesion itself. I would also be looking for ways to support and strengthen the immune system. I have no knowledge of tinactin, you really should check it out with your vet first. Or maybe someone here will know. sol deborah byron wrote: >I've been treating what I assume is ringworm on one of my cats via topical >50/50 dmso/cs alternating with gentian violet. Guest guest
Thanks sol--My CS is made with the silverpuppy and seems very good. Have not had it diagnosed but it sure looks like ringworm. This is a rescued male cat that has been with me now about 6 weeks--I don't think he had RW when he showed up but might have contracted it where he was neutered--the city shelter's spay/neuter clinic--they've had problems with it I understand. I'll contintue with cs/dmso if I hear confirmation that treatment just takes awhile--like I said there has been improvement but very slow.
