Guest guest
Thank you...found it with the help of MySimon at Amazon which is offering it through Circuit City for 349. More than what I wanted to pay, but looks like it'll be worth the extra money. Can you tell me though...does the picture quality lose anything because you save it to a disk rather than a memory card? Do you know what the difference is? Thanks so much. I really like Sony's quality and I'm glad to have found one that looks like it'll do everything we want. Kathy off-subject-dig. cam. rec Hi Can anyone recommend a decent digital camera for under 200? I figure there are some smart "computer" people on our list so maybe someone can point me in the right direction? I'm a real photo bug, but digital is completely out of my realm of knowledge. We bought our son a very cheap dig. camera for x-mas and the quality was horrible. You could barely make out what the pictures were (it was only 30 bucks, so we got we paid for.) I would like one with some type of zoom if possible and my son also wants one that can do some short video to send to friends...anyone have any ideas? It also has to be compatible with Windows XP and Windows 98. (Asking a lot for under 200, I know.) What type of cameras do members have and are they happy with them? Guest guest
I don't think you lose any quality saving to disk. Also as Jack said you can save a lot to a disk and then open the pictures for viewing on any computer. I once had a real cheap one I got free for signing up on Earthlink, a promotion they had going at the time and it needed cables and additonal software to download the pictures, and quality was terrible. Since it was free I couldn't complain Hey good news from my doctor yesterday. I got my stitches out and was told everything is healing very well and I can go back to work in only 2 weeks. May be just half time though for a week or so. I also asked for something different from the Vicoden for pain and they gave me Ultram. Doesn't do quite as good a job on the pain but helps and does not have the side effects I was getting from the vicoden. off-subject-dig. cam. rec Hi Can anyone recommend a decent digital camera for under 200? I have been looking myself. Rick
Guest guest
I also bought a Sony Mavica a couple years ago (approx $600). One advantage of the mavica is that it puts the pictures directly onto a normal 1.4MB diskette that can be inserted directly into your PC. A diskette holds approx 30 normal pictures. You are only limited by the number of diskettes you brought along. It also does movies (MPG). The price may be lower today but I'm afraid it's probably more than $200. Do you know what the difference is? There will be no difference. Just dont need an interface to connect either the memory card or camera to a computer.
