Hi

I didn't know Dr. Frim was also a nsg for tethered cords. I know I've heard

his name mentioned multiple times for Chiari...I think I even saw him on a

show once for it.

Anyway...I would DEFINITELY get your operative notes and any other notes

from your nsg's office. Also, call Frim's office and ask what " he " wants

you to bring.

I too am seeking two other nsg's opinions because of continued decline.

They've both asked for operative notes (pre and post) from my nsg's office.

They also want any test results (you are bringing those) and MRI's. So, if

you grab up your nsg's file on you, you should be all set. Oh...would he

want any information on why you had the pump placed, how it's doing as far

as controlling the spasticity? Maybe if you have any results showing where

the spasticity is coming from (end of the cord, high up, etc.)

Also, what I wrote up for both nsg's that will be reviewing my case (one in

person and the other by teleconference), is pain areas, what type of pain

and what positions cause me undue pain (as in leaning over the sink to wash

dishes or pots...for some reason that slight bend in my back kills me.)

This " may " be able to help them figure out where your pain is coming from.

I also included when pain started, whether it's getting worse, etc. I kept

this to a very short paragraph or two (hard to do.) I didn't want to bog

them down with in-depth descriptions, but wanted them to get the gist of the

problems I'm having.

Good luck and PLEASE let us know what he says.

Kathy
