When it comes to being called leechlike, I'll tell you what I tell myself

because it fits your situation perfectly:

They are the ones who screwed you up, they can be the ones to pay to clean

up the mess they made.

They don't want to have to pay for, much less admit, their mistakes. If

they are forced to admit the atrocious job they did in taking care of your

needs and rights in the past, then they will try to make the current

payment come with a cost despite the fact that you've long since paid the

cost, countless times over and over again.

Also know that, no matter how hard you fight, they may never admit that you

were disabled as a child. I began pyschiatric treatment at age four, yet

social security refused to list my disability as beginning any sooner than

the time I applied for it (despite having applied for it several times in

the past but been too disabled to follow through on the paperwork.)
