Lean Ann,

I think? I heard on one of your video demonstrations on YouTube that you gave up white sugar and wheat flour.

I understand the white sugar thing even though it is a Mother Nature food (in moderation, of course) but what is up with wheat flour unless you are allergic? and then go to gluten free, correct?

Pancake Recipe I found a whole wheat pancake recipe online. I'm always modifyingthings...(I also doubled it for a 5 person family with a friend sleeping over :-) 1 cup of whole wheat flour (I had some sweet sorghum flour that I mixedin, but the bulk of it was whole wheat and it would have tasted thesame I think if I'd done all whole wheat) I used my dry container tomake the flour right before I used it. It seems to me that one cup of wheat berries = one cup of ground flour. I keep my wheat berries inthe freezer by the way. I also like to only do one cup at a time -keeps the flour from getting too hot. 1 Tbs. sugar (I used 5-6 dates) 2 Tsp. baking powder (I used baking powder ;-) 1/4 Tsp. salt 1 egg 1 cup milk (I used rice milk) 2 Tbs. oil First I put in the milk, the oil, and the dates. I then blended onhigh until the dates were liquid. Then I added the eggs and used thelower variable speeds to mix them into the milk/oil/date mix. Then I added the dry ingredients on top and used the lower variablespeeds until I got a vortex in the mix. I used a spatula to scrape anyflour that stuck to the sides. It was YUMMY (but thick) next time Ithink I'll add a bit of extra rice milk at the end to get the batter tothe consistency I want.

I will be there as soon as I can get my hands on a Norwalk! I have been like an

obsessed hound dog lately! I pride myself on finding random bargains at yard

sales, thrift shops and auctions, but I have to say in 20+ years of making a

living on those things, I have YET to run across a Norwalk! I have obtained

three vitamixes for less than 30 bucks a piece, and all manner of other cool

gadgets, but the Norwalk is E L U S I V E!.......so far......I am no where near

finished hunting, lol.

Tootsie, you don't have to be a member and in fact, I wasn't when I

first joined (although the site was overhauled and our memberships were

lost). Wouldn't it be nice to get familiar prior to scoring your find?

;)

Hey, don't forget it took me almost 21 years to get mine! The

fever--which came and went like recurrent malaria--was seriously upon

me when I finally got it. Your time will come but you'll probably have

to pay more than $30.
