us as we discover what it means to be a Self-Advocate and an Advocate. It is

important to understand how to advocate for ourselves and for others who may

not have a voice.

In

Texas, many

individuals who have a disability are waiting for community based services.

Others are living in an institution waiting to get out. History tells us that

the people most impacted by a policy, rule, unmet need, or abuse are the ones

who make change happen. Will you be someone who will act and know that you did

the best you could to make things better for yourself and others? Or will you

sit on the side lines? Together we are stronger!
