Guest guest
Hi All, The time in Australia has just turned 12pm, 1-1-2002. I would like to wish everyone a healthy and safe 2002. I think back to the year just passed. It was our year " Of the Volunteer " and if a year had ever needed volunteers it was 2001. In NSW there have been floods and just this week the worse bushfires in thirty years. I needed the SES when a 50ft tree came down just missing my home. My sister needed the SES because of floods. This week fires started on Christmas day, 160 homes gone. 15 thousand fire fighters gave up their Christmas so they could save people (strangers). The SES and the Rural fire fighters are all volunteers. The world changed forever in 2001 with Sept 11. It will be a time in history that will never be forgotten. I know that I will never forget that day. It has been hard for me. At the end of 2000 I had my second surgery for TSC and came so close to not surviving it all. It took 5 months for me to get the okay that my ordeal was over. I would never wish anyone to go through what I did. Since then I have wondered why I survived it all. There is a reason why I pulled through but I still don't know the reason especially with everything that has happened in this last twelve months. It is a new year now and a time that the world needs peace, unity, understanding and acceptance of everyone. This year is going to be a lot better than the last. I have seen how people can come together just this week with the fires here and Sept 11. Have a great 2002 everyone. I know it has to be better for me.
