Hope this helps.RE: Autism: CARES Educational Program The Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation and Support (CARES) at Texas State University-San Marcos is pleased to announce a new educational program for children and adolescents with autism and related developmental disorders. This program provides individualized services based on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).Our qualified trainers are also available to assist parents and family members in mastering these specialized strategies. Children,teenagers and young adults ages 1 to 22 who have autism and related developmental disabilities will be considered for enrollment.Program The program consists of two components:• Assessment – identify target instructional goals and related instructional strategies• Treatment – individual one-to-one sessions using evidence-based methods derived from ABA Assessment An assessment interview will be submitted with the application.If a child is accepted into the program, the parents will be asked to bring their child to the CARES clinic for direct educational assessment that will guide the creation of an individualized program.SessionsOne-day per week services: Monday (3:30-5:00 or 5-6:30),Two-day per week services: Tuesday & Thursday (9:00-10:30 or 11:00-12:30) for 1.5-hour sessions in the CARES clinic.A variety of evidence-based and promising practices will be used throughout the sessions. These practices may include discrete trial training, incidental teaching, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual supports, Functional Communication Training (FCT), video modeling, social stories,social skills training, and prompting and fading procedures.Individual progress will be monitored daily and the program will conclude with a summary report. All sessions will be supervised by faculty and staff with Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA).Choosing a treatment program that’s right for you and your family Families may choose the number of sessions and length of program based on need, availability, and budget. Six- and eight-week programs are available from October 4th through December 2nd.
