Guest guest
(I'm sending this to the group for those who may be having similar difficulties) Hi Carolyn. Your seizures could be caused by your cervical instability as it causes pressure on your brainstem. Also, what about Tethered Cord Syndrome? Have you been checked for that? I had seizures prior to my Tethered Cord Surgery. They are gone now. I have read about people being givin Lyrica for pain. It is an antiseizure medication and some docs tend to use antiseizure meds as part of a group of meds they try to help people in pain. You may need to try something else for pain. Like, maybe a nerve block. I read an interesting article in Newsweek about pain. They say that in some people the nerves between the brain and body actually develop a pathway when an injury or insult occurs and will continue to send pain signals long after the reason for the pain is gone. It's a difficult type of pain to treat and ongoing research is being conducted to find ways to prevent and treat it. I would not recommend driving while having these seizures. You could ask your neurologist to try something else to see if the seizures stop. Hope this helps. --------------------------------- Be a better Heartthrob.
