Subject: i went to the doctors for the first time

about 4s.

She said i might have ADD and referred me to a

psychologist because she thinks the

problems are 'in my head.' She also said if that doesn't work she can give me

medicine to

make me 'not angry' when i hear certain sounds....

its questionable to me..don't know what i think yet.

just thought i'd share.

Boy that sounds familiar... except my diagnosis was OCD (which I do

have, but has nothing to do with 4S). I was also handed meds that

were going to " make it better " . Yah right. Just another example of

how the medical profession is in the dark. Perhaps the psychologist

you are referred to will have better ideas. *keeps fingers crossed*

Of course we cannot second guess medical opinions thru the internet, to

be fair and ethical, but I would say you have encountered TDR Syndrom

for 4S: Typical Doctor Reaction.....i.e., I don't recognize the

symptoms here ergo it must be a psychological issue ergo they should

probably see a mental health therapist ergo also I can offer drugs for

their secondary emotional responses since I am not sure what else to do

ergo......well you get the picture.

Well meaning docs put children as young as five years old on heavy

drugs for 4S.

That is just the way it is, for right now.

Did you mention the word misophonia to your doctor?
