Hi Melinda,

I'm so glad you've joined! This group has been the best support for

me since 's OCD began. You might want to check out the FILES

section of the group for info; there is info there on other than OCD

also. Feel free to ask questions, vent here on those terrible days

(I know there's a lot lately!).

To All:

Melinda is in my Aspergers Support group (which I joined due to

). I invited her to join this group as her son is

going through so much lately (and the entire family). I felt since

he's exhibiting the handwashing compulsions and has mentioned " germs "

and is now having trouble in school, getting mouthy, refusing or

getting upset when asked to do something (such as carry Dad's plate

to kitchen or pick up a soup can in store or do homework....) and

having such meltdowns (plus the panic attacks don't help, I'm

sure)....well, I was telling Melinda I felt that there were probably

more OCD-related things going on than the handwashing; plus I believe

many here have dealt with the handwashing issue. And that

might not even know himself exactly what is going on or not saying...

Anyway, I'm sure that so many here can identify with what she's going

through and others can explain it so much better than me - how if

it's OCD-related (refusals, meltdowns, mouthiness...) the situation

might better be handled a different way, say, than I do my typical

sons (who think I am totally unfair and partial to ).

So again, welcome Melinda!
