Guest guest
I am scared of antibiotics. My son's gut is a mess. But if this is what it would take to help him I will try it. Has anyone out there successfully used a course of antibiotics and had gains (or setbacks I'd really appreciate hearing all perspectives) in their autistic children? It has recently been recommended that I put my son on a round of azythromycin antibiotics for a moderate infection of proteobactor rheumatica, something basically no one has heard of and I can not find any studies to base my decsion upon. My son and I both tested for a moderate infection of this on the Fry test. My son is currently taking 300mg (going up to 600mg) of Sporanox a day and his yeast issues still seem to be a major problem as his belly is always bloated no matter how we alter his diets and supplements. I would like to know if anyone out there has also been in a similar situation. I am wondering if antibiotics would make the yeast and his GI worse or if it would actually help by killing the bacteria in his gut. He is so angry and out of control that we've had to cancel therapy for the past two weeks. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.
