Guest guest
Dear I wish Annie had a twin (NOT REALLY!!!) to spy on her at school. She has been so down about school recently and says that everyone is being so mean to everyone else, and that she hates being there. She insists no one is really picking on her, but I doubt that's true. Sixth grade girls are mean to everyone, and I'm sure she's a particular target. She must hide it well at school though because her teacher and the guidance counselor and psychologist have all said that she seems to happy, friendly and normal at school. They always say she is very social, which shows you how much insight they really have into the social lives of older elementary school kids! About feeling protective of at school - that's the way Annie is about her younger brother. If anyone even looks askance at him at school she is right on it. But at home she can be really awful to him at times (like this week...). The principal told me that we didn't need to worry about Ben being picked on for being accelerated in math (he's a very small 7 yr. old in a fifth grade class) because Annie " takes her role as big sister VERY seriously! " Sibling relationships are very complicated!
